Retouching
Biography
|
Through Image Transformation Services, I combine my technical and fine
art backgrounds to bring imaging ideas to life.
I
have twelve years retouching experience with a broad range of assignments
where I am required to execute demanding, detailed
work efficiently My strengths include high-end
beauty and creative montage work. I have been gravitating toward working
mostly with
ad agencies and prepress facilities. I very much enjoy the
creative and technical process of leaving my work fresh, polished and
with
emotional presence.
I initially moved to New York in March, 2004 to work on staff at Quad
Graphics, where I met demanding retouching needs within a
quick turnaround
to many of the top magazines in the country.
During over 5 years at AARP's Modern Maturity magazine, I grew from my
initial responsibilities including desktop scanning and
shipping of artwork
to take on retouching projects of increasing complexity. To support the
creative efficiency of the Art Department,
I implemented an accurate and
fast color management system such that all forms of the Design Department's
color output and
display matches RR Donnelley's press proofs.
From 1999 thru 2003 I displayed my archival digital montage prints and
original photographs at Touchstone Gallery in downtown
Washington, DC.
My solo shows included Allegheny Arts Council, Cumberland, Maryland during
March, 2002 and Touchstone Gallery
, Washington, DC during September, 2001.
I hold a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and a BS
in Marketing from George Mason University.
